Creative ideas can be put into practice easily, thanks to modern day software, but you would need to spend large amounts of money if you are looking for professional editing programs. Cyberlink Director Suite provides a cheaper solution and it is just as effective as other advanced programs on the market. It includes everything you need in order to create video montages, edit photos and audio files and make visual adjustments on your videos. What's more, Cyberlink Director Suite's components are easier to use than other similar programs.

It takes several minutes to download and install Cyberlink Director Suite, but the operation does not involve any complex configurations. The package includes four different programs, which serve the aforementioned purposes. You can choose which programs to install or not, during the setup process. A modern day computer, with mid-range hardware and Windows XP or a later version installed is sufficient to run Cyberlink Director Suite's components.

The included programs can be launched with different executables. Each of them comes with its own user interface and integrated tools. If you decide to install the entire suite, you will have PowerDirector, for video editing, ColorDirector, for video enhancement, PhotoDirector, for editing and adjusting photos and AudioDirector, for audio editing.

Unlike many video editors out there, PowerDirector provides a wide array of useful features, which give you complete freedom to make all sorts of fine tweaks. For example, you can insert keyframes anywhere in video or audio channels and use them to adjust volumes, transparency levels and much more. You can also find equalizers and other advanced tools, for various fine adjustments. It would take a long time to count PowerDirector's functions. The possibility of capturing video footage with a webcam, creating 3D-animated slideshows and a huge amount of special effects placed at your disposal are just a few examples. Also, PowerDirector comes with built-in support for Chroma Key, which means that you can use a green or blue screen to merge videos.

PhotoDirector makes it quite easy to edit photos or make fine visual adjustments. You can import and preview multiple pictures in the larger area of the interface and switch between numerous editing tools, on the left side of the window. The program allows you to make a large number of manual adjustments, but you can also apply one of many presets. Furthermore, PhotoDirector provides a series of tools for fixing common problems in photos, like darkened teeth, wrinkled skin, red eyes and so on. ColorDirector comes with similar adjustment options and presets, which can be applied the same way, but on videos.

AudioDirector can be used to edit and adjust audio files, as the name suggests. Once you load an audio file or finish recording with a microphone, the program will display wave forms for the left and right channels. You can perform various actions on the entire track or on a selected segment. Besides simple tasks, like cutting, copying, pasting, deleting or cropping, you can also customize and apply various special effects. The supported effects are displayed in collapsible menus, on the left side of the window, where you can select preset configurations or make new ones manually. What's more, AudioDirector includes everything you need in order to reduce clicks and other unwanted noises from an audio track. It is also possible to mix several tracks into one and to burn them on an audio CD.
